Anne Arundel County is fighting multiple environmental injustices within the Black and brown community at Lothian, Maryland.

Baltimore CIty has a legacy of environmental injustice and Black communities and families have long paid the price in terms of health, access to opportunity, jobs, schools and healthy food.

Dorchester County, located on Maryland’s Eastern Shore, is the birthplace of the Underground Railroad.

The Brandywine community is in the southeast corner of Prince George's County with a population of  6,700 residents, 72 percent of whom are  African-American.  Some residents call it an environmental sacrifice zone for Maryland and the Washington, D.C., region.

In Maryland, the agriculture sector is the largest source of polluted runoff into the Chesapeake Bay. And the poultry industry is the largest contributor to the problem
